We are very much looking forward to the new season, and are especially excited to tell you about our new training facility.
We have developed a relationship with North West Kent College and will now have our home training base at their Dartford Campus in a new, state of the art double sports hall. The new sports centre is named the Österberg Sports Centre, after Martina Bergman-Österberg, who was the original inventor of the game of netball whilst based at Dartford College - so it would seem fated that one of the oldest and most respected netball clubs in the country will be based at the original home of netball!
For those of you who want to learn more about the amazing Martina Bergman-Österberg and her pioneering work in the field of PE for women please click here (please note, we are not responsible for the content on Wikipedia!!).
One of the great things about having this facility with 2 courts is that the whole club is able to train on the same evening. It will allow our younger players to interact with the 1st team and senior players, training together where appropriate and using the ample room to split into teams or positions for parts of the session. Our training night will be Thursday and we have the facility from 6.30pm until 9.30pm - with staggered times for different age groups / teams or positions depending on what we have planned for the session.
We can't wait to get started!
