Tami wins bronze at the Netball World Youth Cup

Elizabeth Roche28 Sep - 21:34

The England U21s have taken World Cup bronze in Gibraltar after an incredible week of netball!

In the group stages, after their first match was forfeited by SSS, England beat Wales (65-28), Tonga (72-25) and Jamaica (64-33) to earn a place in the quarter finals.

They then faced old rivals Scotland and were in command throughout, winning 64-33 and progressing to the semi-final against New Zealand. This was a thrilling match with New Zealand seemingly in control, going 10 goals up before England launched a comeback in the last quarter (when Tami took to the court!) to come agonisingly close to the gold medal match, losing by just two goals - 49-51.

The team regrouped to play against South Africa in the bronze medal match and they always looked in control, taking the win 55-25, with Tami making a great impact in the second half.

We are so proud of our superstar who is such an inspiration and role model to all the juniors in the club, and can't wait to see the medal when she comes home!
