With Paige Money (GS) and Kirsty Hall (GA) continuing to reign supreme in the shooting cicle, the team got off to a great start. The pair seem to move around the circle as if they were dancing in a ballet, with both using excellent foot work to out manoeuvre the defence. The rotation of Debbie Greenslade (C/WA), Megan Hayward (C/WA), Cara Hooker (WA) and Emma Hall (WA) was seamless and the shooters seem to thrive on the variation.
The defence of Cassie Perry (WD), Ellouise Edwards (GD) and Katy Caulfield (GK) were also making their presence felt. Thanks to the two handed defence practiced in training they made some great interceptions and several tips which neutralised any attempts at a flowing game that Raiders tried to instil.
At the end of the first half, Club had a good lead. However in the second half Raiders seemed to get a second wind and were making steady gains. Club had a few (fortunately not serious) sliding falls on the slippery courts but, after a couple of rolls, the players got up and continued playing tirelessly to the end.
