Tough second half sees the game slip away

The 2nds had a great start against Istead 1 with Sadie Burch and Rebecca Clayton working well together to gain some interceptions from the Istead attacking players. Shannon Murray, Megan Hayward and Debbie Greenslade worked hard to bring the ball down court with accurate passes using the straight line ball strategy. Jemma and Kirsty linked up well together in the shooting circle using good footwork patterns to create space in the circle for the ball to be nicely fed in by Debbie and Megan.

However, in the second half Istead came back fighting gaining many interceptions and chasing down the loose balls. Lois Marks showed some strong play at an unfamiliar GD position, and Club tried to keep up and maintain the steady play. However, the worsening weather saw Istead cope better and start to stretch their lead. A disappointing loss but well done to Lois and Becs playing up from the 3rd team.
