Huge score from the 2nds takes the win

After losing to a very experienced Tonbridge 2 team at the beginning of the season, we knew we had to use our fitness and determination in order to claim what would be a great victory this time around.

With a starting seven compromising of Jayne, Nicola, Lily, Lola, Shannon, Elise and Paige, the first quarter saw Tonbridge take the lead with their accurate shooting and experience. With Club making several forced errors and not defending tightly down the court, we were up against it with the score at quarter time showing 12 - 18 to Tonbridge.

Club's fortunes changed for the better during the second quarter thanks to some tight defending, which in turn lead to some fantastic interceptions from Paige, Elise, Shannon and most notably Lola from a Tonbridge centre pass. The front court were starting to gel at this point too, with some great feeds into Jayne and Nicola. The end of quarter score was 35 to 30 to club.

No changes were made during the third quarter and Club continued to defend well, heaping pressure on Tonbridge and causing them to make mistakes. Mistakes were being made on both sides, with several passes being easily intercepted by Tonbridge. However, Jayne and Nicola continued to shoot well which kept club comfortably in the lead at 51 - 45 at the end of quarter 3.

The fourth quarter saw one change, with Jess taking to the court as WD. It also saw Club surge further ahead, putting the game beyond doubt with some lovely passing down the court from the whole team. Lola and Lily were making some big drives to the top of the circle which created some great feeds into Nic and Jayne. Our persistent defending and fitness paid dividends through to the end of the game and earned a well deserved win. Final score 71 - 54 to Club.
