A warm and sunny Saturday 26th September, saw KCNC 2 play Tonbridge 2, coming away with a valuable win.

A confident approach to the 1st quarter meant the team were fired up and ready to take on the tough opposition. It was a close battle of goal for goal and the attacking line had to work hard to drive the ball down court to Jess C (GA) and Jayne (GS). Devon (C) and Emma (WA) offered their support on the the edge of the circle when needed. A Pressured start, with the new players still finding their feet, ended the 1st quarater with 11-9 to Club.

Tonbridge fought back in the 2nd quarter. Their experience as a team in both their attack and defensive play, disrupted what Club set out to achieve; which was short sharp passes, driving onto the ball and effective defensive preassure. The shooters worked well to score the long shots, as the Tonbridge defenders forced them back off the post. Consistent support from Jess S (WD) and Alyssa (GD), saw the team help Devon move the ball through the Tonbridge skilled mid court players. Tonbridge played a very good quarter which pulled them 10 goals and the 2nd quarter ended with only a goals' advantage to Club at 20-19.

Defensive skill, endurance and determination from Donna (GK), Alyssa and Jess S, won Club possession of the ball disrupting many on Tonbridge's attack play. The 3rd Quarter seeing Pauline come on as GA and Jess C swapping to WA, meant Club pushed to up their work rate and gained advantage with numerous interceptions to extend their lead.

Donna and Alyssas presence under the goal posts and protecting their defensive positions, interrupted the Tonbridge shooters, forcing them to take the long shots and retrieving the rebounds to progress the ball back down court. Club were now leading 31-24.

Finally, Pauline and Jayne's experience in reading the pace of the game and moving into space, allowed their positioning to gain Club the advantage. Jess C and Devon's quick decisive drives and feeds gave the shooters as many chances as possible to end the game in another win with a score of 44-30. Donna gained herself a well deserved Player of the Match.
