Having just played an hour for the 1st team indoors, young shooters Emily (GA) and Jess (GS) once again stepped to the fore to spearhead the attack. Unfortunately the lines of communication with WA Debbie, and C Kelly had not quite been established, and this led to a number of passes going astray, with the timing slightly out in attack.
At the end of the first quarter the match was relatively close, and Emily had to leave the court due to an ankle injury sustained in the 1st team match. Jayne stepped into GS, with Jess moving out to GA, and with a tall holding shooter now in the circle the attacking rhythm settled down with Jess, Debbie & Kelly happy to put in long feeds from different ranges.
In defence Devon (WD) had a good grip on her WA at centre passes, and Eve (GD) was going a high amount of work to push her GA high and restrict her passage to goal. In the circle Chantal (GK) unsettled the Welden shooters and her threat over the shot led to a number of misses.
At half time Maria came on at C, and showed off her pace both in attack and defence, and with the shooters hardly missing, Club started to pull away into a comfortable lead.
The game was all but won when Alyssa came on at GK and Kelly back on to WA for the last quarter, but Club kept up the high workrate to the very end, recording a winning start in Division 2.
