Match report by Leo Bacchus.

After a slow start, the first few minutes saw Telstars going ahead 4 goals to 1, but the first seven rectified this and brought the score to draw level, at 4 all. But that little come back was short lived as we struggled with timing and Telstars took advantage of this and steadily built a lead. They ended the quarter ahead 11 goals to 4.

The beginning of the second quarter saw an improvement in our game play and there were pockets of perfect timing and a couple of straight-line balls but it was not enough. Although we did manage to force Telstars into making a few errors and fumbles we were not allowed to capitalise on them. The defence worked tirelessly and were rewarded by being able to keep them down to 10 goals which was a great achievement as their shooting was very accurate. We managed to score one more than the previous quarter but knew that this was not going to cut the mustard!
As it looked like that we would not even get a point; ending the quarter 9 goals to 21.

With second half changes made and fresh legs and combinations introduced Telstars were caught on the back foot as Club scored 4/5 goals on the trot and came within 7. But, true to form Telstars fought back, though only won that third quarter by 4, as everyone began to mark a lot tighter, restricted their space and made them work a lot harder for those goals. (Finally! The fire had started to spark - the lure of getting a point off of them was in our sights).

The final quarter proved to be our best as we got to within 3 of winning the quarter and more importantly we achieved more than half their score which was a hundred percent improvement on our first encounter with this team.
