Disappointing loss for the third team

We turned up not so eager to play due to the rain and hoped that the courts would not be slippery, and affect our speed on court.

The first quarter was good and we fought hard. Skylar and Rebecca made several interceptions and helped turn over the ball when we were falling behind. In the front court Lois and Brooke were always available to help bring the ball smoothly down court. Also in attack Alice and Jess were making sharp moves and keeping the defence constantly alert. They both made some amazing shots on the edge of the d at critical times and this lead us to finish the first quarter 7-9.

The second quarter was better as we worked harder on bringing the ball down court carefully and giving good passes so there was no chance of an interception. Unfortunately the defence on the other team was very strong and played on our few mistakes, especially on our feed into circle as they had a big height advantage and they therefore got the turn over.

During the third quarter we all were determined to try and score more goals. Everyone tried to focus on their specific areas to improve upon before going on court. This was effective and we pulled the score back a little bit, but there was still room for improvement.

The last quarter was much improved as Skylar and Elize worked hard in defence and got many interceptions and helped bring the ball safely down court with Rebecca's help. The attack also improved as Emily and Jess were making positive moves towards the ball so Alice could give a strong feed into the circle which she did successfully on many occasions. Unfortunately the umpire was very strict and picked up on every slight mistake we made and the opposition received free passes that then quickly turned into goals.

The final score was 27-41 although we lost it was a good game and we continued to play our best til the end.
