Third team dig in to take a valuable win.

KCNC 3 vs OBA 2

Everybody turned up on time and after a good warm-up we went in ready to play; however in the first quarter we started off slowly, taking a while to adjust to the other team’s physicality. Despite this the defence of Skylar and Devon soon got going and got lot of interceptions and the ball was moving up the court well but the shooters struggled slightly only scoring 6 goals compared to OBA’s 8.

In the 2nd quarter we looked much more ready to play and with the centre court of Lois, Temi and Brooke bringing the ball up nicely Club started to play better and took the lead 19-11. Skylar and Devon also played well in this quarter as they managed to get many of the rebounds from the other team’s shots and restricted them to only 3 goals. Emily and Jess also started to work together better in the circle and shot well, scoring 13 goals. This was our best quarter.

In the third quarter changes were made and Emily and Brooke came off and were replaced by Elize and Eve. We started a bit slow again as we adjusted to the changes made at half time but it soon picked up with Jess and Elize working well in the shooting circle and Eve coming on strongly in defence. We went into the final quarter 25-18 up.

In the last quarter Emily came back on and with the defence of Skylar and Eve defending well and Lois and Temi making lots of interceptions to give the shooters more shooting opportunities we pulled away to win 35-24.
