Match report by Maria Thoomkuzhiyill.

Club started the first quarter off focused and determined which was evident in their play. Club fired through the first few minutes, scoring several goals with Temi at centre linking the attack and defence. The attack brought the ball up court well using triangles and there were good shots from Emily at GA and Jenny at GS. Maria at WA and Temi working well together feeding in balls to the shooters whilst the defence were strong as Devon got numerous interceptions at GD. Brooke at WD was putting pressure on the ball and Eve at GK was getting several rebounds from correct positioning around the post resulting in Club leading 14-11 at quarter time.

During the second quarter the positions stayed the same . The defence putting pressure on the ball causing the opponents to make mistakes. The attack were continuously finding spaces and the shooters had plenty of opportunities and great shots with their quick footwork. Club were driving through the court, empowering onto the ball. Club maintained the good defending and attacking, leading 26-23.

The third quarter lead to changes as Devon moved to WD and Denise came on at GK, whilst Rebecca came on at GD. Despite several tips from Rebecca, Devon and Denise, Club seemed to lose focus and many loose balls weren't spotted . The attack , although driving the ball up the court, seemed to lose the man to man marking and the front court defence was ineffective. This lead to a lack of interceptions and OPA 2 leading. However, Club still kept a tight score with their constant efforts. Some good shots from the shooters and interceptions from the defence lead to them only being down by two : 34-36 at quarter time.

The fourth quarter lead to even further changes and Alice came on at GS, as Jenny moved to WA. Club came on ready to regain the lead. The defence putting pressure on the ball leading to mistakes from the opponents. Despite the continuous efforts , unforced errors lead to OBA 2 having even more opportunities to shoot . Even with Alice and Emily's dynamic footwork, the straight line balls and forward moves from the attack, luck wasn't on our side as some shots tipped out of the net almost about to go in. However Club didn't put down a fight even due to the unlucky shots and even regained the lead to a draw but could not hold on it. This was due to some careless mistakes from loose marking and lack of luck around the ring.

Overall, Club put on a good fight against a team just below us in the league resulting in a very tight score of 45-49 to OBA 2
