Sharp start from the Third team

On Saturday 12th September, KCNC 3 played Telstars 4. With new additions to the team Leah Baxter, Katie Woolcott and Maureen O, the 3rd team went on with high hopes to come out with a win. In the first quarter Club came on with an amazing start with Emily and Leah moving around well in the circle creating space for each other and taking every opportunity to shoot, this was due to the fact Brooke, Maria and Rebecca were quickly moving the ball through Telstars skilled defence and constantly moving around the circle edge giving good feeds into the shooters. Eve and Maureen worked well together in the circle putting pressure on the shooters. This meant that Club finished the first quarter 5 goals up at 12-7.

In the second quarter, Katie came on at GD causing difficultly for the Telstars shooters as she defended and put pressure on them at all times. Unfortunately ,passing slipped in this quarter due to some windy conditions and some balls thrown behind players. At the end of the quarter Telstars had got into a rhythm and had taken the lead at 21-18.

Club started the third quarter all guns blazing trying to regain the lead with Katie and Maureen putting constant pressure on the shooters; Maureen's amazing rebounding skills paid off as Club started to catch up. In the attacking end Leah and Emily were working hard to get into space and using Brooke and Maria at the edge of the circle were able to make skilled moves into good positions for them to shoot, this meant that at the end of the quarter Club were level with Telstars at 28-28

Finally, in the last quarter Club went out with one last push to get the win, with Maria making quick, decisive drives to get the ball through the court giving Emily and Leah as many chances as possible, also Rebecca making good interceptions meaning Telstars didn't score for 2 or 3 minutes. This gave C lub a big chance gain the lead, the match ended with club winning 36-31.
