Match report by Maria Thoomkuzhiyil.

Club started fairly slow despite their long warmup. Fighting through the windy conditions the shooters, Leah and Emily managed to score 8 goals. However Nexus took the lead and managed to score 11 goals due to lack of defence throughout the whole court.

In the second quarter Club came on with a bang. The ball flowed through the court much more fluently and the whole team were more in coordination with each other. Brooke and Maria fed some good balls into the circle; with the help of Dru to bring the ball down . The defence Eve and Rebecca put pressure on the shooters which prevented shots going in. Due to these efforts Club prevailed and won the quarter 20-15.

Nexus put more pressure on this quarter, making it more difficult for Club. Due to assuming they were winning Club was a bit more laid back and underestimated Nexus. The Nexus defence were particularly strong but an injury time out saw Club re-group and forge on to regain the lead. Due to defences great interceptions and the good attacking play they managed to hold on ending the quarter 25-24 to Club.

Club were far more determined the final quarter. Leah and Emily were more confident in the circle holding space well. Even through the changes made in the centre court, when Dru and Brooke swapped they quickly adapted and did well to find space as well as defend.
Additionally the defence put pressure on the ball resulting in interceptions and rebounds.

Overall, Club pushed through winning 32-28 despite harsh weather conditions and a tough opposition.
