KCNC 3 started the New Year off with a great win against Sabina 2.

In the first quarter, Emily and Leah were able to score 14 goals due to the great link up play between Brooke, Maria and Dru who brought the ball down to the shooters. We finished the first quarter 9 goals up with Sabina only managing to score 5 due to the amount of turnover in the defensive third.

In the second quarter, Sabina picked up the pace slightly with their plays, but they were no match for the brilliant defensive skills of Rebecca and Eve who got nearly every rebound and really took control in the defensive third, helping us stay in the lead with 21-13.

Sabinas defence and attack really dug in when the third quarter started, which seemed to put KCNC under pressure making us give away easy passes. We picked it back up towards the end of this quarter finishing the quarter 30 - 25.

KCNC did well defensively not only by Rebecca and Eve who only allowed 7 goals to be scored by Sabina in this last quarter, but by Maria and Brooke who watched the play very well getting first rate interceptions and bringing the ball up court to Leah and Emily, who made good space for each other and put up great shots which secured us the lead at the end of the game.

The end result was 40-32 to KCNC despite it being the first game back.
