It’s the third match of the season for Club and having not won a match yet the team were ready to go all out and try for the win, however it was not going to be easy against New Edition.

New Editions defence was strong making it very tough on the shooters to get there shots up and their attack fed their shooters well, who then went on to score the goals. Club defense struggled to disrupt New Edition or even slow the ball down. Coming out of the first quarter Club were trailing by 9-19. With New Edition leading by ten points Club needed to put everything in if they were to close down on the lead.

In the second quarter the team were ready to bring it back but knew a lot of work needed to be put in. The defence and the centre court worked well to bring the ball up court to the circle but despite the same shooting arrangement of Dot Bryan at GS and Lottie Bull at GA working extremely hard, the defence of the opposition made it very hard to work the ball into the shooters. Club needed to show patience and work the ball round with lots more passes each time and sometimes we weren’t able to do this for long enough and we therefore weren’t getting as many goals as they would have liked. Unfortunately for club some good shooting by New Edition meant they were getting the goals and the half time score was 17-31. This meant it was a better quarter for club, only losing it by 4 but now the gap was even bigger and Club had a lot of catching up to do.

During the third quarter the defence worked well to get interceptions and centre court were consistent at working to a high standard and bringing the ball down to the attack. New Edition’s defence were still managing to get many interceptions which lead to their score continuing to increase whilst Club’s score was still a long way behind. Despite the lack of goals the shooters of Club were determined to get the ball and they never gave up. The score going into the final quarter was 22-45, Club now trailing by many points.

In the final quarter Club still kept their spirits up despite the Score. The team went out in the last quarter hoping to get more goals and try and close down the gap. However to everyone’s disappointment the ball was still proving nearly impossible to get into the shooters and for the shooters to sink their shots. Unfortunately club only scored 2goals in the final quarter leaving the final score or 24-59. Even with the big gap in the sore credit goes to the shooters for never giving up and working very hard to try and get Clubs score up.
