Disappointing performance by 3rd team leads to defeat
After winning their last 3 games club were ready to go all out to get another win. However with a few players absent and a few playing with injuries club were not at their strongest. Despite this the team were still determined to try there hardest for a g
Tonbridge had first centre and so Club had to go all out on the defence. Club made some early interceptions and settled into the game well. There was some solid shooting from the attack which saw club looking positive. The quarter ended with club trailing by only a few goals.
Going into the second quarter club needed to really work hard and close down on the lead that Tonbridge had. Club had quite a strong opening quarter however this unfortunately did not carry through into the second quarter and mistakes were beginning to be made. This meant that Tonbridge were beginning to widen the gap in the score.
In the third quarter a change in the defence saw Tara Brydon now at GD and Ruth Dempsey at GK. A few interceptions were made however not enough as Tonbridge attack were still sinking there shots comfortably. Club as a whole were not linking well together and this had a big impact on the score. Club still were trailing by many goals.
Club were not having a good game and so going into the last quarter they needed to go all out to at least get over half of Tonbridge’s score. The centre court brought the ball down well to allow the shooters to get the goals and the defence put pressure on the opposing attack to try and reduce the amount of goals they scored. The final score was 32-49. Club could have won this game however in the circumstances did well to reduce the score to over half giving them a point.
