Disappointing start to the 2nd half of the season for 3rd team

Club had first centre meaning that the team could go all out to gain the first goal. They settled into the game well however Ruth Dempsey at GD became injured early on and had to go off resulting in a change in position for nearly the whole team. Despite this, all the changes were quickly adapted to and club continued to show strength on court. However Swanley managed to take the lead in the first quarter with the score being 8-12.

Going into the second quarter club had regained their focus and were ready to close down the lead in which Swanley held. The attack worked well together and they had accurate shooting which saw Club gain more goals. This combined with the work from the defence left club in the lead at the end of the second quarter. The score now being 20-18

With only two goals in it club knew that their work was far from over. This lead could easily be lost as Swanley now were coming back fighting. Both teams went out strong with some good work on both sides. Club’s centre court tightly marked on the centre passes giving them some turnovers. However these were fought back by Swanley and the score line continued to stay close throughout. At the end of this quarter Swanley just edged into the lead of 24-25

Club were now determined to go all out in the last courter to win the game. They were only trailing by one goal which they could easily get back. However Swanley kept getting interceptions and getting more goals meaning their score was rising whilst Club were being slightly left behind due to disciplinary mistakes and a few missed shots. The final score being 28-39
