KCNC 3 not strong enough to defeat Tonbridge

After a good warm up and a team talk club were ready to go all out and try to get an early lead. Tonbridge had first centre and so club needed to get a turn over goal in order to pull away. They managed to do this and continued to play strong throughout the first quarter putting them ahead at the end of the quarter with the score being 11-6.

Now Club had the lead they had to stay there. They knew that this was not going to be easy as Tonbridge were now warmed up and ready to come back fighting. The defence for club stayed strong making interceptions leading to the centre court working solidly to bring the ball down to the shooters who sunk their shots comfortably. This combined effort of the team meant that their overall performance was strong. However as well as club playing well, Tonbridge also stepped up their game in this quarter and managed to just creep into the lead with the score being 22-23.

Despite club now being one goal down they were still determined to go all out and regain the lead. Again in this quarter the whole team worked well, with interceptions being made by many of the team members and still solid work from the attack however this was not quite enough on clubs part as Tonbridge were still just in the lead with the score of 34-38.

Club were only four goals behind going into the last quarter which they were ready to fight back for. Unfortunately this was not the case and things started to go downhill for club. The opposing attack started to get a few easy goals and their defence were strong which meant that club were not getting the goals they needed to close down the score. It was in this quarter that Tonbridge pulled away leaving a big gap in the final score. This was 40-59.
