3. Umpiring

We encourage all interested members to pick up a whistle and umpire - it improves your understanding of the game and makes you a better player! Support is provided at training and umpiring opportunities are available at the junior league for those umpires learning and working towards a test.

Providing funds are available, we will subsidise attendance on umpiring courses where the qualification will benefit the club. Our current policy is as follows (please note this policy is subject to amendment by the Executive Committee at any time):

  • Any member interested in umpiring for the club will be reimbursed 100% of the course of any 'Into Officiating' course and any FENA C Award course and test, subject to the qualification being achieved.

  • Any member who has actively umpired within the club for a period of 2 years will be refunded 100% of the cost of the FENA B Award course and test on achieving the qualification.

  • Any member who has actively umpired within the club for a period of 3 years will be refunded 25% of the cost of the FENA A Award course and test on achieving the qualification. A further 25% of the cost will be reimbursed in the following year provided that the member actively umpires for the club throughout that season.

No course costs will be reimbursed if the qualification is not obtained.
